Attention writers: Any time I come across "wait for it..." (as in: "Max ate an entire pizza and then... wait for it... six hamburgers!") in whatever it is I'm reading, I don't wait. I just keep moving right ahead. Maybe it's just me, but I don't find the ellipses really slow me down that much.
Just thought you'd want to know.
do people really type in the WAIT FOR IT or just the ellipses? either way, thanks for enlightening us all. i feel much better now knowing your reading patterns.

Above was my attempt at a modified version of "WAIT FOR IT" But I bet you all scrolled down, so in a way, I accomplished the same goal?!?!?!? Or, was that just simply the most annoying post on SFTC ever!! I would go with the latter.
ReplyDeleteBugs - People are typing the words "wait for it" -- they're so bossy.
ReplyDeleteHPA - (sigh)
bossy and stupid
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm sure I've been totally guilty of "...wait for it..." Blerg.
ReplyDeleteL - I was pretty sure I had done this, too... and I checked, and sure enough, back in April on this very blog. But I think the statute of limitations has expired on that one, and I feel comfortable imposing the rule - at least on myself. Did people use that phrase much before 2007?
ReplyDeleteyou did use it! that's really horrible! and in a blog about mccain, no less. oh escalator operator. that's just totally bad...i must not have picked up on how silly it was in april. since then, i've become a much more savvy blogger.
ReplyDeletePulling out my multi year collection of the CT to see if it was used in your formative journalistic years.
ReplyDeletehpa: NO YOU'RE NOT! SAY IT ISN'T TRUE!!!
